The Unpredictability of Life
How to Embrace the Unknown
Imagine paying $250,000 per person(About Rs 2 crores) to have one of the best experiences of life, but instead, dying in one of the worst possible ways.
You all must have already read about what happened to this group of wealthy tourists who boarded, The Titan, OceanGate Expeditions’ 22-foot long submersible vessel, to explore the site of the Titanic wreckage in deep water off the coast of Canada.
According to the US Coast Guard, the surface vessel lost contact with the submersible, approximately one hour and 45 minutes after it commenced its dive to the site of the Titanic's wreckage. As per reports, The Titan typically takes around two hours to reach the Titanic wreckage…but not that day.
And btw, the wreckage of the Titanic that sank in the year 1912, lies at about 12,500 feet.
On 19th June, the authorities revealed the Titan was missing and a large-scale search operation was launched. According to many, it was a futile search but the detection of banging noises renewed the hope that the five passengers onboard might be alive.
But as per the latest updates, the tail cone of the vessel was found around 1,600 ft from the bow of the Titanic wreck and the passengers aboard were later confirmed to have died after the submarine suffered a “catastrophic implosion”.
It was a really horrific tragedy and it just shows that life is so unpredictable and whether you are rich or poor, death is imminent for all. The passengers must have thought they will experience something new that day but that vessel just took them to their final destination.
