This is what I have learned and what I follow to combat my stress. Please bear with me as I walk you through these 7 easy steps to deal with your stress!

Be aware of your stressors and your reaction to stress

Before you try to deal with stress, you need to know what causes it. Take a day and learn about yourself, what stresses you out and how you react to your stressors.

Introspect

Talking calmly to yourself can be the next best thing. Don’t worry about seeming crazy. Just tell yourself why you're stressed out, what can you do to tackle your stress, and most importantly, that everything will be okay.

Tell yourself that YOU are the one who is going to make things better from now.

Talk to your loved ones

When you’re feeling stressed, take a break to call a friend and talk about your problems. Spill to someone you trust. Good relationships with friends and loved ones are important to any healthy lifestyle.

A reassuring voice, even for a minute, can put everything in perspective.

Avoid toxic people

It’s often said that you’re the product of the people you spend the most time with. If you allow even one of those people to be toxic, you’ll soon find out how capable they are of holding you back. Identify those people and distance yourself from them. You’ll realise that half of your problems are sorted.

Don’t let them sabotage your happiness and growth.

Learn to laugh

It’s pretty obvious that if you’re having a serious laugh, you’re probably enjoying the moment and not stressed. However, it also has long term benefits in dealing with your stress. Laughing tricks your nervous system into making you happy.

So, laugh it up!

Breathe easy

The advice “take a deep breath” may seem like a cliché, but it holds true when it comes to stress. While shallow breathing causes stress, deep breathing oxygenates your blood, helps center your body, and clears your mind.

Breathe your stress away!

Write about a positive future

Write about your great future life. Writing helps you absorb ideas better than just thinking. The idea is to envision your goals and dreams come true.

And most importantly Believe in it.

Wake up, feel fantastic, stay stress free!
